Killer Mikes’s R.A.P. Music comes out today. Be sure to pick it up physically or on iTunes. The record was produced entirely by El-P who incidentally has his new solo album Cancer for Cure coming out later this month (I mixed that album also). It was great working with El, Mike, and everyone else involved. One quick story about mixing this record, which I can say is a first for me. The morning that mixing was slated to begin (and of course we were on a tight deadline), a 100 Lb window fell out of it’s fitting and blind sided me in the back of the head as I was walking from it. It knocked me to the floor and put a huge gash in my head requiring 40+ stitches. I think El was already in route to the studio, and I had to tell my girl (who was kinda freaking out that I might die from the blood everywhere) to call him and tell him what was up as the paramedics arrived to get me. Anyway, long story short, I was sitting in front of Pro Tools about four hours later…I have never missed a deadline and wasn’t gonna let this be the first time. Here are some photos from that day (one slightly graphic for the squeamish).

Dr. @ New York Downtown Hospital. Cool guy, and promised me I wouldn’t die.
Video for “Garfield” of the album Are You Gonna Eat That? Pick the record up digitally here.
Gold Dust Media just released a preview of El-P’s Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3 that I mixed. The record comes out on August 3. You can pre-order the record here and receive some extra goodies.

Rakaa’s solo record Crown of Thorns is in stores this week. I mixed Track 12: Mean Streak, produced by EL-P. It’s a great record…highly suggest buying it.
